Research Analysis

For my research analysis we were required to look at different films that would influence our choice of style in our production.

i was heavily influenced by the montage opening in the film Hannibal. a series of different film shots, edited in quick succession, were used to establish the setting of the film and to also set the mood of what was to come with the use of slow tempo piano music.

my main body of film was based of the style of Ocean's Eleven (2001), a high tempo film about a crime in Las Vegas. the film was very high tempo and very shique and sophisticated giving it a lot of class with its choice of music and the actors starring in it e.g. George Clooney and Brad Pitt.

i wanted to blend both of the qualities i saw in these films and make my own opening to a film by having the storyline similar to that of Ocean's Eleven but to establish the scene to the audience by including a montage of shots of London including lots of familiar sights e.g. black cabs and red buses.

i also made my film similar to Oceans Eleven by including similar types of dress and types of music into my production, adding to the aspect of style of which i was trying to acheive.
